She was born in New Brunswick, a daughter of David J. and Edith Giberson Crabtree, and grew up in Houlton and graduated from Milo High School.
She served as assistant executive housekeeper at Maine Medical Center for more than ten years. In 1984 she retired from the position of executive housekeeper of the Barron Center in Portland. After her retirement she moved to Cape Elizabeth.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Cape Elizabeth since 1948. She volunteered there as a Sunday school teacher and was involved in the Women's Ministry.
She enjoyed cooking and traveling.
Surviving are two sons, Gilbert Stockson II of Pennsylvania and Gary Stockson of Cape Elizabeth; two daughters, Evangeline F. Lavertue of New Hampshire and Virginia E. Norton of Connecticut; three sisters, Faith Blakely and Gladys Hudgins, both of California, and Sade Auriole of Connecticut; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hay and Peabody Funeral Home, 749 Congress St., Portland. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Ken Wilcox officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Forest City Cemetery.
