Corey Lee was born March 15, 1975, in Bismarck, the son of Rodney L. and Laura (McGarvey) Nelson. He was raised and educated in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School in 1993. He worked on the Price Ranch while he was in high school. After graduation, he moved to Minneapolis, where he worked construction. In 1996, he moved to Marana, Ariz., where he worked with his father in water well drilling and as a bartender. He enjoyed sports and loved his motorcycles.
He is survived by his mother, Laura Nelson, Lemmon, S.D.; his father, Rodney "Rudy," Marana; and his maternal grandparents, Arlene and Myron Fried, Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Art and Rose Nelson and his maternal grandfather, Terence McGarvey.
