DIES IN S0MERVILLE
William E. Copithorne, of 55
Upland road, West Somerville, for
18 years general agent of the Som-
erville Welfare Department, died
this morning in the Baker Memorial
Hospital after a month's sickness.
He served three years on the Board
of Aldermen and became agent for
the Welfare Department in 1910.
He leaves his wife, Mrs Mary H.
Copithorne, two daughters, Miss
Ruth G. Copithorne and Mrs Helen
E. Ring, Medford, a son. William L.
Copithorne, and seven brothers,
George A., John R., Arthur N., Her-
bert C, Chester I., Howard N. and
Clarence A. Copithorne.
He was a member of the Somer-
ville Lodge of Elks, treasurer of the
Massachusetts Relief Association
and member to the First Methodist
Episcopal Church, Somerville.
