Mrs. Alta Louise Gresham, age 81, of Seymour, passed away on August 24, 2011 at Schneck Medical Center.
She was born April 15, 1930, in Jackson County the daughter of Joel and Helen (Reedy) Matlock. She married Harold Gresham on August 16, 1946 in Seymour and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Mrs. Gresham was a member of Central Christian Church, worked at Harts Sandwich Shop in Seymour for 28 years, was a housewife, and enjoyed her flower garden, crocheting, and was an avid reader.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jeanne (Nick) Bode, Steven (Diane) Gresham, Helen (Larry) McIntosh, 8 grandchildren, Kent (Shane) Bode, Doug (Kelli) Gresham, Melissa Hatton, Bryan (Tina) Gresham, Todd Gresham, Larry Wayne (Kristina) McIntosh, Mike McIntosh, and Matt McIntosh 9 great grandchildren, Lauren Bode, Daniel Brian Bode, Valerie Marie McIntosh, Kayden, Deagon, Liam, Lainey, and Amelia Gresham, and Elijah Hatton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Roger Matlock and Hershel Matlock, and a grandson Brian Bode.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Voss Chapel with the Reverend Louis Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Hayden Cemetery with a Voss Dove Release.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 pm and on Saturday after 9:30 until the time of the service at Voss Chapel.
