Born in Chesterfield, Cheshire, NH, son of John Cobleigh and Deborah Harris. Married Polly Sargent in Brattleboro, Vermont, on February 22, 1801. The Cobleighs owned the Young-Cobleigh-Hanno Tavern, which was one of the largest taverns and stagecoach stops on the route through the White Mountain region in Lisbon, NH, in the Ammonoosuc River Valley. The tavern was also the site of the original fort in the valley, and the fort was incorporated into the structure of the house.Children (from "A Genealogy of the Cobleigh Family" by Arthur Cobleigh, 1960, page 131):
