Born in Chesterfield, Cheshire, NH, son of John Cobleigh and Deborah Harris. Married Polly Sargent in Brattleboro, Vermont, on February 22, 1801. The Cobleighs owned the Young-Cobleigh-Hanno Tavern, which was one of the largest taverns and stagecoach stops on the route through the White Mountain region in Lisbon, NH, in the Ammonoosuc River Valley.
