FORT COBB — Funeral for Gertrude L. Pond, 87, Fort Cobb, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Cobb Highland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Albrecht and the Rev. Leonard E. Gillingham officiating. Mrs. Pond died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at a Chickasha Living Center. Burial will be at Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, under direction of Fort Cobb-Hackney Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 3, 1915, in Alden to John R. and Anna Lena Schmidt Lowry. She attended Anadarko Business College for a year. She married Harold Keith Pond on Nov. 16, 1940, in Blanchard. She was a homemaker, and assisted in their farming operation. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sue Pond, Fort Cobb; three grandchildren and their spouses: Nancy and Mitch Griffin, Doug and Shelly Pond and Leah Schieb; six great-grandchildren: Macy and Madison Griffin, Brooks and Bailee Pond, Ashton Trescott and Cameron Schieb; and many other family members and friends.
