Ona married Arthur W. R. Ahrens on 6 May 1923 in Llano, Llano Co., TX. From this marriage one daughter was born. Later they were divorced. Thereafter, Ona married Joe D. Gonzales from Mexico by Wm. Knight, Disrict Judge, Washoe Co., NV. on 13 March 1948. They did not have any children. Later they divorced. After retirement and subsequently she lived with her granddaughter, La Ona Claire Zigelhofer Doljanin in CA. The other grandchilden, Norma, Arthur and Raymond Zigelhofer also assisted Ona Mae. Basically Ona Mae rode a wheel chair, did her own cooking but required assistance in bathing. She lived in an apartment back of La Ona's home.
