Mary Eliza Chandler was born the third of six children born to Luther S. Chandler Jr. (1818-1872) and his wife Mary Elizabeth Snow Chandler (1825-1895) of Danvers, Essex Co., MA. She died of scarlet fever at the age of three years. [NOTE: grave marker and cemetery records note date of death as 24 March 1852. However, Mass. VR give the date as 25 March 1852.]
