Phebe Chapman Reynolds, wife of C.N. Reynolds and daughter of Smith R. and Elizabeth Shanks Chapman, deceased, was born in Okaw township Jan 28, 1872 and passed away at her home in Shelbyville Oct. 11, 1926, at the age of 54 years.
She was twice married, in 1891 to Enos L. Morse, who died in 1898; in 1899 to C.N. Reynolds, who survived her. Besides the husband, she left a son, Ralph H. Morse of Windsor; a daughter, Neva Reynolds Wickiser of Mattoon; one stepson, Paul N. Reynolds of St. Louis; one grandchild and two step-grandchildren; a brother, E.P. Chapman of Findlay; two sisters, Mrs. Butler Tull of Windsor, and Mrs. D.T. Baxter of Eldorado Springs, Mo.; a half brother, D.A. Chapman of Stark City, Mo., and a half sister, Mrs. Abe Ditzler of Toledo, Illinois.
When quite young she united with the Methodist church. She had been in poor health for several years before her death and was an invalid the last three years of her life.
The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in Shelbyville and interment was in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.
