The funeral services of Mrs. LaBelle Hunt Keyes, wife of Dr. Otis M. Keyes of Dana were held at the Baptist church in Dana, Thursday afternoon, being conducted by Revs. Kendall, Merrell and Beebee. Quite a large crowd attended the funeral and paid their last respects. Burial took place in the Bales cemetery.
The deceased was born in Annapolis, Parke county, February 8, 1856 and was married to Dr. Otis M. Keyes, August 7, 1878. To this union was born one child - Dr. Paul H. of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Keyes died Tuesday morning, August 25, 1913 after a long illness, but she was patient and bore her sufferings without a murmur.
She was a christian woman who lived her religion. Her home and church were first of all things. She did with diligence what she had to do, had reconciled herself with the laws of the universe and had prepared herself for her departure.
Mrs. Keyes united with the Dana Baptist church March 19, 1891. She loved her church and was faithfully devoted to her religious duties. the church loses a useful member, the home and fireside will know her patient grace no more and her friends by the score will miss her.
Her husband and son Paul, whom she idolized, and four brothers are left to mourn her loss.
