Frances Stahl Evenson was the daughter of Alois Stahl, a famous bandmaster in Luxemburg Wissonson. Stahl had immigrated from Bohemia to the US and settled in Luxemburg which had a thriving germanic community. Ole Evenson was a member of the Stahl Band and met Frances through his future father-in-law. Several of Frances' sisters also married Stahl Band members.

Frances and Ole Evenson had 9 children: Valeria Margaret (1906-1978), (Evelyn) 1908-1929, Helen (1909-2001), Rose C. (1911-1911), Ole (1912), Ludmilla (1913-1934), Belma (1915), Roland (1921-2002), Eunice (1921-2000)
