"Robert C. Pope, 68, of 1616 Willow Drive, Olathe, died Wednesday at Humana Hospital. He was born in Maywood, Kan., and moved to Olathe from Paola, Kan., in 1934. Mr. Pope worked for the Mobil Oil Corp. for 41 years before he retired as an engineer in 1981. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Olathe. He was a member of the Olathe Masonic Lodge, the Olathe Community Hospital Foundation and the Johnson County Republican Elephant Club. He was an honorary fellow of the Harry S. Truman Library. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Louise Pope of the home; a son, Charles R. Pope of Plano, Texas; a brother, Howard Pope of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Carlson of Ottawa, Kan., and and Mrs. Benita Christy of Gardner in Johnson County. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Frye Chapel, Olathe; burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, February 7, 1986
