Darrell L. Caldwell, 66, died September 1, 2011 at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Wichita. He was born December 16, 1944 in Lyons, the son of Roy and Billie Austin Caldwell. A resident of Inman since 1999, he had previously lived in Hutchinson. He was a self employed painter. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Linda Myers on July 13, 1967 in Hutchinson. She died November 7, 2006.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Kimberly Hostetler, Inman and Cindy Ediger, Hutchinson, a brother, Kevin Drum, Kansas City, KS, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Duane Caldwell, and a sister, Susan Glover.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Hoffnungsau Cemetery, Inman, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson.
