Funeral services for Sylvia Ann Gunnells Norris, 54, of Williston, SC will be held three p.m., Friday, July 22, 2011 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with Rev. Dan Fogle officiating; burial will be in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday and other times at the home of Virginia and Leonard Mills. Memorials may be sent to Rosemary Baptist Church, 14370 Main Street, Williston, SC 29853. Sylvia passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
Born in Allendale County, SC she was a daughter of Virginia Mills and the late Frances O. Gunnells. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church where she was active in Bible School, the Youth Department, the Benevolence Committee and sang in the church choir. She attended Orangeburg Technical College and was an in-home health care provider.
Survivors include her husband, Scotty Sylvester Norris and a daughter, Jessica Ann Floyd, both of the home; mother and step-father, Virginia and Leonard Mills of Elko, SC; sisters, Mary Lynn (Andy) Rickenbaker of Cordova, SC, Janice Shroud of West Columbia; step-sisters, Ginger (Bruce) Dyer of Chapin and Monica Mills of Eastover; a brother, Jennings Rountree of Charleston, SC; a number of nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Rebecca Armstrong and her loving church family.
