Mr. Emory Gilbert
Mr. Emory M. "Hank" Gilbert, 78, of 4248 Coxey Brown Road, Myersville, died Wednesday, March 10, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy Virginia Gladhill Gilbert, who died March 5, 1984.
Born April 9, 1914, in Harmony, he was a son of the late Milton and Anna Babington Gilbert.
Mr. Gilbert was a retired heavy equipment operator with the State Highway Administration. He was a member of the Harmony Church of the Brethren, Myersville, and an avid hunter.
He is survived by seven daughters, Violet M. Brandenburg, Virginia d. Carpenter and Judy A. Nusbaum, all of Frederick, Pauline E. Wachtel and Rosalee A. Geisbert, both of Middletown, Molly J. Souders of Frederick, and Louise R. Stottlemyer of Myersville; one son, David E. Gilbert of Frederick; one brother, Jack Gilbert of Middletown; one sister, June Haupt of Middletown; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call anytime Thursday, March 11, at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 11. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 12, at graveside in Harmony Cemetery, Myersville. The Rev. C. Basil Grossnickle will officiate.
