Craig Edward Myers, 26, of Rocky Ridge, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at University of Maryland Hospital.
Born Oct. 23, 1984, in Frederick County, he was the son of Ronald E. Myers, of Walkersville, and Cindy G. Phipps, of Keymar.
Throughout his school years he was involved in 4-H and Future Farmers of America and enjoyed showing cows. For most of his working years he was a diesel heavy equipment mechanic and most recently worked for Grimes Truck Center of Frederick. He was a member of the Libertytown volunteer fire company and Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Association. He enjoyed butchering, hunting, fishing, singing, dancing, gardening and NASCAR. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are brothers Steven E. Myers and fiancee Heidi E. Boyer, of Rocky Ridge, and Kevin E. Myers, of Walkersville; a nephew, Levi E. Myers; grandparents Harold E. and Leila Myers, of Frederick, Ron and Bev Phipps, of Reisterstown, and George and Gail Reese, of North Carolina; a stepmother, Diana L. Bryant; aunts and uncles Ron and Lisa Phipps, Clint and Tabatha Phipps, Robin and Eric Elkins, Stacy Schock, and Adam and Lauren Phipps; and numerous cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chapel Cemetery near Libertytown.
