Services for Francis Merle Ihrig will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at Donohue-Lensing Funeral Home, with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. John McCrory will officiate.
Mr. Ihrig, 68, of 1402 Crescent St., died Monday at Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Ihrig was born July 14, 1920, in Wellman, son of Walter G. and Laura Powell Ihrig. He was a graduate of Kalona High School. He was the head bailiff at the Johnson County Court House for more than 15 years. Before that he farmed in Sharon Center. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII.
