Diana Greer, 69, of 5560 Highway 6 SE, died Tuesday, march23, 1999, at Mercy Hospital of a sudden illness. Services will be Friday at the Grace Community Church in North Liberty. Burial will be in the Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a memorial fund of Good News Bible Church.
Mrs. Greer was born June 19, 1929, in Iowa City, to Edward Cutler and Kathryn (Hill) Meardon. She graduated from Iowa City High School and attended the University of Iowa and Chounard Art Institute in Los Angeles. She worked at the City Hall in Glendale, Calif. She returned to Iowa City in 1950. She married Reese Greer on Oct. 16, 1954, in Iowa City. She worked as a bookkeeper at Iowa State Bank and Trust.
She was a member of the Good News Bible Church in Iowa City, Iowa City Women's Club, past regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Artists in Action of Muscatine, Old Capitol Geological Club and Iowa Wanderers Camping Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Dana (Maureen) Greer of Iowa City; a daughter, Lisa (Dave) Tomash of Iowa City; three sisters, Marilyn Adams of Santa Monica, Calif., Janice (Bill) Moon of Winnetka, Calif., Sandra Wilker of Lone Tree; two brothers, Edward (Barbara) Meardon of Iowa City, Gerald Meardon of West Branch; and three grandchildren.
Her parents and an infant sister, Joyce, died earlier.
