BURROUGHS
--Henry Studley Burroughs, at Coldwater, Mich., husband of the late Ella Oldham, father of Studley Oldham Burroughs and Evelyn McKenzie, grandfather of June and Beverly Burroughs, and Dietly McKenzie, brother of George and Edgar Rice Burroughs and the late Coleman. Funeral Tuesday, 3 p.m., at Graceland cemetery chapel.

Henry Studley Burroughs.
Henry Studley Burroughs, a retired Chicago insurance company official and a brother of Edgar Rice Burroughs, author of the "Tarzan" stories, died yesterday in Coldwater, Mich., where he had gone for his health. He was 71 years old. Before entering the insurance business Mr. Burroughs engaged in cattle ranching and gold mining. He retired five years ago as assistant secretary of the Washington National Insurance company. He leaves a son, Studley O. Burroughs, 636 Melrose street, with whom he lived; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn McKenzie of Quincy, Mich.; two brothers, Edgar and George, both of California, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Graceland cemetery chapel tomorrow afternoon.

BURROUGHS Coldwater, Mich., Jan. 22 –Funeral services for Henry S. Burroughs, 68, who died last night at a hospital here, will be held Tuesday afternoon at Chicago. Surviving is one son, Studley O. Burroughs of Chicago; one brother, Edgar Rice Burroughs of Los Angeles, noted author and one sister, Mrs. Carlton McKenzie of Quincy.

The Michigan death certificate indicated burial was at Graceland Cemetery, Chicago. However, the Graceland Cemetery office in Chicago provided the following information in January 2019 [thank you to contributor 347507564 !]:

Henry Burroughs, age 71, died on 01-21-1940 and was cremated on 01-23-1940.
His ashes were shipped on 02-02-1950 to John Kampp & Son (120 N Hale St, Wheaton, IL)
