C.Y. "Cowboy" Coker, 88, of Breckenridge died in a local nursing home.

Services were officiated by Rev. B.J. Stovall, pastor of the Greater Pentecostal Church, assisted by Rev. H.C. Knight.

He moved to Texas in 1917 from Alabama.

He married Mrs. Emma Merritt, a native of Tennessee and moved to Alabama. The couple came to Texas and settled near Quanah where he was employed before coming to Stephens County in 1934.

He was employed on the M.E. Daniel Ranch and also worked for another ranchers until his retirement in 1958.

Survivors; sister - Mrs. W.E. Kirkland of Breckenridge; two brothers - M.H. Coker of Bokchita, OK and John Coker of Smithville, TX; nieces, nephews - including Mrs. D.W. "Eloise" Noah of Breckenridge
