Jennifer Ann Ramsey, 26, Columbia, died at 9:10 p.m. May 14, 2003, in the University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia. Ramsey was born May 13, 1977, in Olney, Ill. She graduated from Hephzibah High School in Georgia where she was a member of ROTC for four years. After graduation she entered the U.S. Army and engaged in the field of Corrections, serving as a correctional officer at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., for the entire three years. After being honorably discharged in 1998 she continued her career as a correctional officer for the state of Missouri. She will be sadly missed but will live on in her family's memories and through the lives of others benefiting from the gift of life received from the vital organs she generously donated. Compassion, sensitivity, love and a caring and giving spirit characterized her life. She also had a special fondness for animals. Survivors include her mother, Janet Johnson and husband Jeff, Sparta; sister Stacey Ramsey, Jefferson City; maternal grandparents Mary and Johnny Cunefare, Sparta. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery with full military honors.
