Glenwood, W.Va. -- Grover C. Edmonds, 79, of Glenwood, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at his residence.
He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II. He was Methodist by faith.
He was born Feb. 20, 1926 in Mason County, a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Lourena Boster Edmonds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Susie" Edmonds; and three sisters, Zola Duncan, Roma Holley and Zena Meadows.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and David Kent of Huntington, W.Va., and Drema and Larry Tomblin of Glenwood; two granddaughters, Amy Beth Kent of Nashville, Tenn., and Melissa Kent of Birmingham, Ala.; a grandson, Michael Tomblin of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington with Minister Jeff Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Pete Meadows Cemetery in Glenwood. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2005 at the funeral home.
