Carol Luann Trenary, age 60, died Friday, July 2, at her home in Atlanta, GA following an extended illness. She was born February 24, 1944, in Detroit, the daughter of the late Glenn Trenary and Mary Lee Trenary, who survives her. She graduated from Cooley High School in 1962, and from Wayne State University in 1966 with a degree in music education. She later earned a Masters degree from Georgia State University. She taught music in the Detroit schools before moving to Atlanta where she taught at Sylvan High School / Middle School for 28 years. Her dedication to music and students was widely recognized. She retired in 1996. She loved music and she loved children, devoting the last years of her life to Alexis and Naomi who lived in her home during their earliest childhood. She belonged to Southwest Christian Church, where she was a member of the choir. She is survived by her mother, Mary Lee, two brothers Roger (Katie) Trenary, Manhattan, KS, and Robert (Kathryn), Mendon, MI., and nephews Bill, Matt, and Ben, and the numerous children whose lives she touched. There will be a memorial service Thursday, July 8, at 3pm in the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home in Fairburn, with Dr. James Donovan officiating.
