William Roswell "Ross" Spencer, 93, Mexico, Mo., died May 23, 2003, at Heritage Hall Nursing Center, Centralia. Born May 9, 1910, in Payson, Ill., a son of Samuel Glenn and Esther Abbott Spencer. He married Ina May Hull, May 5, 1939, in St. Louis, She survives. Mr. Spencer was a graduate of Payson High School, Payson, Ill. Survivors include one son, James L. Spencer and wife, Darlene, Mexico; one brother, Glenn A. Spencer, Quincy; one sister, Glenna Udre, Troy; three grandchildren, Nicole Santrizos, Charleston, S.C., Sloane Rogers, Everett, Wash., and Heath Spencer, Mexico; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Mark Spencer. Visitation was held Sunday, May 25, at Pickering Funeral Home, Mexico, Mo., until the time of services. Graveside services were conducted at Elmwood Cemetery, with Rev. Dale Stone officiating. Memorials may be made to Mexico United Methodist Church c/o Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N.
