Richard Pruden
Friends have received word of the death in November o Richard W. (Dick) Pruden,53, former executive scretary of the
Decatur Chamber o Commerce at the Good Samaratin Medical
Center in Zanesville, O.
Mr.Pruden died November 27 after being a patient at the
hospital since Nov. 9.
He was the first full time secretary of the local chamber,
having been hired following the reorganization of the
business group in 1950. He served in the local office through
1952.
He was a native of LaPorte and a graduate of the College in
South Bend with a degree in business administration.
He served five years in the US Air Force in World War II,
receiving his discharge as a captain
After leaving Decatur, Mr.Pruden was manager of the Chamber
of Commerce in Fostora, O.for two years, then was head of the C of C in Superior,Wisc.
He was named executive vice president of the Zanesville Chamber of Commerce Febr. 15, 1961, a position he held at rhw
time of his death.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, three sons, three daughters, two grandchildren, two brothers and five sisters.
Mr. Pruden was a member of the Saint Nicholas Catholic Churches, the American Retail Association Executives, Ohio
state council of retail merchants, the American Chamber of
Commerce Executives and various fraternal and civic organizations.
