TOWN OF LYNDON COUPLE DIED WITHIN THREE HOURS OF EACH OTHER

A 74-year-old town of Lyndon man and his 65-year-old wife died within three hours of each other Wednesday afternoon, both victims of pneumonia.

The elderly couple was Mr. and Mrs. August Flunker, formerly of the town of Michell but residients of the Town of Lyndon since Mr. Flunker's retirement from farming in 1948. Mr. Flunker, who had been ill for one week, died at Plymouth hospital at 1:10pm Wednesday, and Mrs. Flunker, who had been ill for four weeks, died at the Flunker home at 3:45pm.

The bodies were taken to the Wittkopp Funeral Home at Plymouth.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Flunker were natives of the town of Mitchell. Mr. Flunker was born November 7, 1875, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Flunker, Sr., and Mrs. Flunker was born August 11, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Suemnicht. They were married December 25, 1916.

Survivors are three sons: Alfred Flunker of the town of Lyndon, Alvin Luedke of South Milwaukee and August Suemnicht of Plymouth; and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Flunker is survived by one sister: Mrs. Marie Wendland of Wilkesboro, NC, and was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Mrs. Flunker is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Edwin Koepke of the town of Scott and Mrs. William Marquardt of the town of Sheboygan Falls; and by three brothers: William Suemnicht of the Town of Mitchell, Oscar Suemnicht of Cascade and Herbert Suemnicht of Milwaukee. Two brothers and her first husband, Robert Luedke, to whom she married on October 6, 1904, preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Flunker were members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Cascade, and double funeral will be held at the church 2pm Saturday, the Rev. Henry Naumann officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth from 2pm Friday to 11am Saturday and at the church from noon Saturday until the time of services.
