JANE ORCUTT HOWELL -
Mrs. Jane O. Howell died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. H. E. Force, Wednesday morning, March 23, at about 10 o'clock. She had been in poor health for a long time owing to her advanced age, and her ailments culminated a few days ago in an attack of pneumonia which her enfeebled system was unable to resist.
Jane Orcutt was born at Riga, N. Y., November 29, 1817, and in that vicinity she spent almost her entire life. She was married in 1844 to Edmund Howell, who died fourteen years ago.
Soon afterward Mrs. Howell came to St. Paul and has since made her home with her daughters, Mrs. H. E. Force and Mrs. T. T. Bell. She has been a Christian since early childhood and entered the eternal sleep with that assurance which alone can come from a long life rightly spent.
Besides her two daughters Mrs. Howell leaves one son who resides in the east.
Brief services were held at the home of Mrs. Force at 8 o'clock this morning, after which the remains were shipped to Riga, N.Y. for interment by the side of her husband. T. T. Bell accompanied the body.
