Mrs. Valerie Pendarvis Cook, age 44 of Georgetown, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011

Born Wednesday, January 4, 1967 in Alexandria, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Billy J. Pendarvis and Doris Williams Pendarvis of Georgetown. She is also survived by her son, Luke Cook of Baton Rouge, LA and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Todd Cook, II.

Valerie was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Church and was most recently a member of New Union Baptist Church, where she was pianist and church clerk. She was employed by Progressive Health Providers of Jena, LA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Beulah Baptist Church, near Georgetown with the Reverends Tommy Hollis, Joe Bruce, and Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Roberts, Jonathan Cruse, Carl Hutchins, Wayne Hutchins, Joe Todd Cook, and Luke Cook.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2011 and on Sunday from 11:00 AM until service time, at Beulah Baptist Church, near Georgetown, Louisiana.
