Farming has been the labor of his life, but in the Spring of 1902 he embarked in the mercantile business in Manton, associating with him his kinsman by marriage, O.E. Burns.
William P. Westbrook resides on a part of Sec. 13, Greenwood Twp.
July 4, 1883 in Newago Co., Michigan, William was united in marriage to Sarah Burns, a native of Clinton Co., Michigan - born 1-2-1859. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Burns, residents of Newago Co. 7 children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Westbrook, 2 of whom died when about 2 years old. The other children are Frank, Ethel, Winnie, Leslie and Wilbur.
In June, 1885, about 2 years after marriage, Mr. Westbrook moved his family to Wexford Co., and located on the farm where he now lives. He owns 124 acres of land.
