Joyce Lorene Aldous, 78 of Hanford, California passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 in Hanford, California surrounded by her loving family.Joyce was born in Pocatello, Idaho on March 1, 1932 to Clarence Everet and Evelyn Lorene Barbre Bodkin. She was raised and educated in Pocatello, Idaho, graduating from high school in 1950. They moved to Hanford, California in 1961 to make their home. Joyce was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Hanford and was a member of CWF. She worked 20 plus years at JC Penney's as a Sales Associate, retiring in the late 80's. Joyce worked in Medical Records copying for 10 years and on the Election Board for many, many years. Joyce most enjoyed times spent with her family and her church family. You always could find her at her grandchildren's activities, cheering them on not what the activity. Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles and old movies. Joyce was a caring, selfless person and always thought of others before herself. She will be dearly missed by all who know and loved her.Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Russell Lavon Bodkin.She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Johnny Aldous of Hanford, Debra Dawson of Hanford, Darcy Sherwood (Eden) of Clovis and James Aldous (Karen) of Hanford, CA; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and her church family. Celebration of Life services were held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, 505 W.
