Melvin LeRoy Allison, 73, of Lewistown, Mo., died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Ill. Born January 14, 1930, in Lewis County, Mo., a son of Alphews Ebenezer Mathew Allison and Etta Augusta Underwood Allison. He married Doris Mae Stice, September 9, 1951, in Williamstown, Mo. Mr. Allison was a member of the Lewistown Seventh Day Adventist Church. He had been employed at the Rural Electric Cooperative, retiring after 41 years. Survivors include his wife, Doris Mae Allison, Lewistown; a son, Eston LeRoy Allison, Nixa, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Teresa Mae Harper, Denton, Tex.; a brother, William Allison, Quincy, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Evans, Keokuk, Ia.; and two grandsons, Marine Corp Cpl. Erik C. Allison, Okinawan, Japan, and Greg Allison, Nixa, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, from 4-8 p.m., at Arnold's Funeral Home, Lewistown, Mo., with family greeting friends after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 10, at Arnold's Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Waterman officiating. Interment will be in Lewistown Cemetery, Lewistown. Music will be provided by Mrs. Judith Gaus, vocalist; and Mrs. Mildred Bailey, organist. Pallbearers will be Kevin Cottrell, David Cox, Greg Allison, Thomas Allison, Doug Duffie, and Justin Allison.
