Thelma Lucretia Childers, 94, Canton, Mo., formerly of LaBelle, Mo., died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in LaBelle Manor Care Center, LaBelle, Mo. Born February 26, 1909, in Lewis County, Mo., the daughter of George Dennis and Addie Lucretia Thrasher Levengood. She married Guy St. John Childers, December 15, 1942 in Lewistown, Mo. He preceded her in death, February 5, 1986. Mrs. Childers and her husband, farmed north of LaBelle, until his death. She was a past member of the LaBelle Saddle Club and was of the Protestant faith. She was an accomplished musician, playing several instruments, including piano, fiddle and guitar. She played for many years with the Sunshine Band at various area social functions. Survivors include one sister, Nina Schork, Canton, Mo.; seven nieces, Una Rodgers, Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Carol Richerson and husband, Gary, Mexico, Mo., Mrs. Linda Laws and husband, Jerry, Olathe, Kan., Mrs. Sharon Levengood Lindahl and husband, Tate, Macomb, Ill., Mrs. Jeanie Stewart and husband, Butch, LaBelle, Mo., Mrs. Cathy Lowe and husband, John, Lewistown, Mo., and Mrs. Barbara Sedelmeier and husband, Gene, Ewing, Mo.; one nephew, Alan Schork and wife, Annie, Canton, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews.
