May Fair Rooney, age 92, Born November 1, 1908 in Texline, Tx, passed away March 6, 2001 in Spokane. She is survived by her sons, John Bettis of Rathdrum, Id. Wayne Bettis of Portland, Or. James Rooney of Westminster, Co and Patrick Rooney of Spokane, daughters, Mildred Cockerum of Spokane and Mona Bates of Whitney, Ne. sister, Edna May Johnson of Albuquerque, N.M. 32 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Juanita Arrington, Judy Lee Bieker and Betty Jean Bettis. She was a resident of the community for 63 years. She worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad for 32 years, retiring as chief operator. Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 9, 2001 at 3:00 P.M. at Fairmount Sunset Mausoleum Chapel, 6200 W. Wellesley Ave. Hennessey, Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division.
