SOUTH OGDEN – Vaughn Earl Allen, 88, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Crestwood Care Center.

He was born April 21, 1918 in Bothwell, Utah, a son of Joseph Archie and Emma C. Evans Allen.

Vaughn married Betty Miller on January 10, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada and resided in South Ogden for all of their married life.

He served in World War ll in the 757th Tank Battalion and received
a Purple Heart, Silver Star L and Battlefield Commission.

Vaughn was an avid gardener, bowler, fisherman, and loved to travel and dance. He was also a dedicated golfer and got his only hole-in-one at age 82.

Surviving are his wife, Betty; stepchildren, Dennis (Ardie) Miller, Steve (Judy) Miller and Lori (Tom) Creamer.

Also surviving is one sister, Marie (Ennies) Love.

Preceding Vaughn in death are four brothers, four sisters and his first wife Philis Scofield.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. with Bishop Roy Stuart of the South Ogden 7th Ward officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Where Military Honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

ln lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 845 East 4800 South Murray, UT 84107.
