On February 11th, 1924, the death angel entered the home and bore away the spirit of Mrs. Mattie Clark. Her death came as a shock to her friends and family, though she had been in declining health for several years. She would have been 68 years of age in April. Her body was carried to Jones burial ground near Wood Shop and laid to rest by the side of her mother. The funeral service was conducted by Dr. Rucker, of LaFayette.
