A true gentleman and life-long "Conch", Cap'n Allen was my friend. An oiler in the Merchant Marine and fishing partner to Ernest Hemingway & Jimmy Hoffa. Born on Eaton St. in 1915, Cap'n Allen knew Key West way before it forgot its' actual history and tried to become Disneyland. Lived his last days at Breezy Pines Trailer Park on Big Pine Key until his passing in 2001. Left to cherish his memory are, among many others: Paul-("grasshopper"), Dave, Cathy, Jerry, Stevanna, Janet-("Tarzan"), George, Joe, Vern, & Allen's dog "Ganga".
