ASurvived by his wife, Norma. Flying cadet, commissioned in May 1940. STationed in the Philippines prior to WW II, served there & was at Clark Field at beginning of the war. Evacuated to Battaan by a local boatd on Christmas Eve 1941 from Manila. From there he went to Corregidor. He then boarded the submarine "Seawolf" to Java. Upon the seizure of Java by the Japanese forces, he escaped capture by flying an aircraft to Australia in March 1942. He later rejoined his old unit in the US Army Air Corps, & was shot down twice over Papua, New Guinea.
He was assigned duty in Europe in 1943 where he served in England, France & Germany thru the end of WW II. Later serving in Washington, D. C as a Military Attache in Caracas & later assigned to the Strategic Air Command. Retired from the US Air Force in 1965. He received many decorations. His accomplishments are too many to add here.
