From Wyaconda News.
S. E. James was born in Stewartsville, Bedford Co., Va., in 1841; departed this life Jan. 3, 1921, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alma Shacklett of Rutledge, Mo.
He was married to Annie E. Neighbors in 1865. To this union were born six children, Sidney Baxter James, Mrs. Nannie Turner, Mrs. Alma Shacklett, Mrs. Mamie Cruise, Mrs. Myrtle Kern and Irene McCulloh. The son preceded him in death seven years ago and his beloved wife 16 years ago. He was of a quiet, unassuming nature, a kind father and good neighbor.
A short service was held at the Baptist church Jan. 5, by Rev. Wilson and Rev. Young and the body laid to rest in the Wyaconda cemetery.
Besides the daughters, six grandchildren and a host of friends mourn his departure.
The sorrowing relatives have our heartfelt sympathy.
