Family was very important to Roger, which was evident through his devotion to his wife, children, sisters, and mother. After a ten-year battle with cancer, Roger gave in to the disease on February 28, 2011. His determination, strength, and faith in God were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Roger was a member of Big Springs United Methodist Church of Pinson, where he attended most of his life. Over the years, he worked in construction for a variety of people and was employed by Conalco, UPS, and Proctor and Gamble. Roger had a love for the outdoors, and enjoyed horseback riding and water skiing.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie Williams; their two children, Heath and Hillary; two sisters, Brenda Lambert (Joe), Susan Maness (Elmer), and his mother, Peggy Williams. He also leaves behind a large extended family, as well as friends who loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Williams.
