Patricia "Pat" Donnell Cassat, 83, of Aracadia, Calif., and formerly of Dubuque, died March 10, 2008, at Methodist Hospital, Arcadia.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Linwood Cemetery. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1924, in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of Douglas and Anita (Rath) Donnell.
She graduated from East High, Waterloo, in 1942, Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., and Boston Nursery Training School (now Tufts University) in Boston, Mass. Pat also graduated from nursing school at Pasadena City College in California in 1976, and was an active registered nurse for 22 years.
She married George Cassat in 1944, and resided in Dubuque for many years.
Pat was a gracious woman who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed entertaining, gardening, community service and supporting the arts and education.
She was a member Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Finley Hospital Sunshine Circle and various social groups such as the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Pat and her family have resided in Arcadia since 1964.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the University of Dubuque Nursing Education Department.
