Fatal Heart Attack
Granville McCubbin, 74, dropped dead in the yard of a neighbor in Lamar, Tuesday morning, Oct. 1. Death was attributed to a heart seizure.
He had been living in Lamar for the past several years. He was raised in the Golden City area. He was the son of Grant R. and Hattie McCubbin; a member of the Golden City Christian church and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors are three daughters, Bernice Cruce of Kansas City, Mrs. Barbara Miles of Topeka and Mrs. Mary Guenier of Great Bend, Kan.; one brother Rolla McCubbin of Springfield; six sisters, Mrs. Emma Bishop of Wichita, Mrs. Ruby Keelie of Stockton, Cal; Ina Francis of Lamar, Mrs. Jennie Van Bebber of Mariposa, Calif., Mary Francis of Mt. Vernon, Mo. and Violet Yardley of Golden City and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services are being held this Thursday morning Oct. 3 in the Chiles-Williamson funeral home in Lamar with Robert A. Scott, minister. Burial was at the Mt. Hope cemetery in Topeka, Kan. with graveside services.
