Obituary for Mary Jane Erwin

Mary Jane Erwin, aged 94, a resident of Shawnee, Kansas, peacefully passed away on August 21, 2023. A time for visitation has been scheduled for Friday, August 25, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Maple Hill Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 2:00 PM.

A private burial will be held at the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.

Born on August 18, 1929, in Shidler, Oklahoma, and then soon moved to West Plains, MO area. Mary came into the world as the cherished daughter of Will and Opal Mae Byers. In due course, she united in marriage with Donald Erwin. Mary worked for Montgomery Ward's for over 40 years prior to her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Erwin, her daughter, Karen Hayden, her sister, Jean Hill; and grandson in law, Tony Cisneros.

Mary's memory lives on through her surviving daughter, Sharon Curtis, and her devoted husband Paul, as well as her brother, Jerry (Judy) Byers. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Christy Cisneros, Mathew (Vanessa) Nimz and Katy Curtis; 4 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom continue to hold her in their hearts.
