G. B. Jones is in receipt of a special delivery letter, received this (Wednesday) morning from Charles D. Ise of Coffeyville, Kans., in which the sad news is brought to Downs of the sudden death of Miss Hulda Ise at her home in California. The letter is as follows: "I have just received a message from John at Lawrence stating that sister Hulda had died of heart failure in California last Saturday. Alma and Stella have left with the body for Lawrence, where short services will doubtless be held next Friday and the body brought to Downs Saturday for burial. There is no one at home but Frank and John to plan the details, but I think, however, arrangements will be made so that friends may view the body while at Downs. * * * I think Tom Stroup will have charge of the burial arrangements and you might get in touch with him. Part of the family, at least, will come to Downs with the body. Of course there may be changes in the dates, but this is the way we have planned it at this time."
The death of Miss Hulda comes as a severe shock to the friends of the Ise family in this city, where they had made their home for so many years.
