POLO - Thelma I. Diehl, 89, of Polo, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Dixon Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was a bookkeeper, having retired from Hazelhurst Grain.

Thelma was born June 5, 1922, in Amberg, Wis., the daughter of Fred and Mamie (Moore) Eads. On Aug. 21, 1943, she was united in marriage to Denver Diehl. He preceded her in death in May 2011.

Survivors include one son, Arnold (Marilyn) Diehl of Polo; two sisters, Grace Bowen of Lyndon and Esther Rhodes and Betty (Bob) Truckenmiller, both of Prophetstown; one brother, Jim (Shirley) Eads of Prophetstown; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald; three brothers, Fred, Alfred and Richard Eads; and one great-grandson, Nicholas Diehl.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Polo Family Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at South Elkhorn Cemetery, Milledgeville.
