Funeral Services for Clarissa Kay Smith, 61, former Clinton resident and now of Wichita Falls, Texas, will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Sarah Hardway, minister of the St. Marks Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Clarissa Kay (Mayfield) Smith was born November 2, 1949, to Raymond Mayfield and Hester (Needy) (Mayfield) Sorter in San Diego, Calif., and passed away early Sunday, August 28, 2011, at the United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Clarissa was raised and attended school in Clinton. She married Mr. Emmitt Mack Smith July 12, 1968, in Bessie. He was in the military and they traveled extensively and lived in many places. He retired in Wichita Falls and they have made that there permanent home.
She has been an Avon Representative and distributor for a number of years.
She attended St. Marks Methodist Church, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Mayfield and her mother, Hester Sorter, and a son, Michael Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Emmitt Smith, Home; three sons, Kevin Smith and wife, Jodie, Iowa Park, Texas, and Shawn Smith and Terry Smith; and her stepfather, C.G, Sorter, all of Wichita Falls, Texas.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Traci Smith, Bethany Smith, Rebecca Smith, Kyle Smith, Janae Gibson, Deron Gibson, Piper Womble and Hayley Eubank.
