Services for Brooke Michelle Reed, 21, will be held at 11am Monday at the Church of Christ with Pastor Ken Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. today at Evangeline Funeral Home and will resume on Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at the Church of Christ.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Brooke died at 11:40 am Friday, July 30, 2004 at her residence.

Brooke was beginning her senior year at Nicholls State University majoring in Weights and Conditioning to one day become a personal trainer. She was a 2001 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School, a graduate of the Gail Freese School of Dance & Academy of Ballet, played the oboe in the Community Band in both New Iberia and Houma, and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her parents, Michael and Jennifer Murphy Reed of New Iberia; her sisters, Megan Coleen Reed, Michaela Lynn Reed and Samantha Marie Reed, all of New Iberia; paternal grandfather, Boyce R. Reed of New Iberia; maternal grandfather, Charles Ray Murphy of Hico, La.; maternal grandmother, Betty Solar Murphy of Gonzales, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Brooke was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Clara Shuler Reed.

Pallbearers will be Josh Murphy, Will Rodgers, John, Randy, Tim and Nick Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be her boyfriend, David Parks, David Murphy, Seth and Robert Reed, Ralph Arbuckle, Tony, Brian and Andrew Ray.

The family requests that memorials be made in Brooke's name to the American Diabetes Association, 9405 Interline Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70809 (225) 216-3980.

Evangeline Funeral Homes of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
