Mary was originally buried next to her husband, Joseph Zumwalt in the Old Helvetia Cemetery in Sacramento. Due to relocation of the cemetery it can not be proved exactly where Mary is buried. (See Bio for Joseph Zumwalt for an explanation.) It seems proper that this early pioneer to California should have her own memorial and be linked to her husband and children.
