GRAFORD -- Lindsay Ann "Blondie" Johnson, 17, a student at Graford High School, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, in Houston. Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday in Graford High School Gymnasium in Graford. Burial: McAdams Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Morrison Funeral Home in Graham. Memorials: may be made to the Lindsay Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Graham Savings or the First National Bank of Graford. A beloved daughter, sister, and friend was called by God to be on the "All Star Team" Wednesday, March 20, 2002. She was a former resident of Fort Worth, moving to Possum Kingdom Lake in 1993. Lindsay was a junior at Graford High School where she was a member of the Graford Lady Rabbit basketball team. She received the honor of first team all-district in basketball this year. Lindsay was chosen to attend an international basketball competition in Italy during the summer of 2001. She also participated in volleyball, in which she received all-district 2001-2002, tennis, track and cross-country. Lindsay also supported her friends and teammates as a cheerleader from the seventh through the 10th grades. She was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Family, Career, Community Leaders of America and 4-H Club, as well as being reporter to the junior class, secretary to her freshman and sophomore classes and an accomplished UIL participant. Her beauty and charisma earned her the title of Most Beautiful 2000-2001 and 2001-2002. Lindsay loved life, her family, friends and her school. She will be remembered for her courage, determination, inspiration to others and her unforgettably beautiful smile. Her favorite times included playing basketball with her team, spending time with her friends and family, adventuring and enjoying the unsurpassed beauty of nature. Survivors: Parents, Barry and Linda Johnson of Graford; sister, Jaclyn Rae Johnson of Graford; brothers, Jason Brad Johnson of Wichita Falls and Justin Dax Johnson of Beech Creek, Pa.; grandparents, Betty Todd of Wichita Falls and Iola Johnson of Graham; and many loved cousins, aunts and uncles.
