Mrs Alfred Jaehnig, 68, of R.1 Newton, died Sunday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. The former Lillie Barthel, she was born Nov 10 1899, in the Town of Centerville, a daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Mueller Barthel, and was baptized and confirmed at St Peter Lutheran Church in the Town of Centerville.

On Jan 18, 1919, she was married to Alfred T. Jaehnig, of the Town of Centerville. The couple couple resided in Sheboygan for 20 years, moving back to the Barthel homestead to farm after Mr Barthel's death in 1943. Mrs Jaehnig was a member of St. John and St. Peter Lutheran Church, cleveland.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Gordon, of Newport News, Va; five daughters, Miss Elinor Jaehnig, Milwaukee, Mrs Merlin(Betty) Hansen, Cleveland, Mrs Herman (Gloria) Haefke, Mrs Willis (Deloris) Voss and Mrs Charles (Joyce) Kraemer, all of Neewton and 13 grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were three sisters, three brothers and a grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at St. John and St. Peter Lutheran church with the Rev Paul Knicklebein officiating. Burial will be in the Saxon Cemetery in the Town of Centerville.

Friends may call at the Stoltenbert Funeral Chapel in Cleveland from 3pm Tuesday until 11am Wednesday and at the church from noon Wednesday until time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Mrs Jaehnig's name for St John and St Peter Lutheran Church and for the Leukemia Foundation.
