Athalie Dezauche Long, born on September 4, 1915, passed away at the age of 95, on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at a local hospital. She was a life long resident of Grand Bay, AL. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and owned and operated several businesses in Grand Bay, including the Dolphin Swim Club and the Beehive Quilt Shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Bernard Long, sister Yvonne Segner and her parents. She is survived by her five children; Nancy (Jerry) Williams, Buddy (Jacqueline) Long, James Noel (Sharon) Long, Anthony (Sheryl) Long and Melissa (Rich) Kerns, grandchildren Jennifer (Troy) VanDyke, Candy (Lonnie) Craig, Michael Williams, Trey (Amy) Long, Alexander (Danielle) Long, Nikolaus (Elaine) Long, Patricia (Eric)Long- Grant, Sherry Long, Jimmy Long, Megan (Joe) Dombroski, Eric Long, Elyse Long Nelson, Tyler (Amanda) Kerns, Haleigh Kerns and Spencer Kerns, step grandchildren Jessica , Kris and Casey Hartley, devoted friend Sue McCollough, brother James (Betty) Dezauche , 23 great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Johns Catholic Church in Grand Bay on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
